Building Decor and Van Zante Modifications

I kept you updated on the building as it was going up.  But you must be asking yourself by now, "Gee, I wonder what kind of decor Josh went with for that building?"  Well, its slow going, but let me show you!

Josh's mom found his old FFA sign one day while she was tidying up.  Its the sign that he got when he was in high school.

Some of our tractors may be green, but this sign shows you where the guys' hearts truly lie.

Josh's jar collection.  I'm not sure exactly what all are in these jars other than assorted sizes of nuts and bolts, washers, bits and other jar-worthy items.  But I can tell you that I never hear a complaint from him when we have pasta... he needs the jar from the sauce!

A little gift from the kids and I.

And then there is the ever popular phrase that automatically makes me nervous and curious all at once when I hear it. There have been many a times Josh has come in to dinner to proudly announce that they've come up with yet another "Van Zante Modification".  (Changing something from its original form to a new form and/or use.    We all do it, but theirs are somewhat more extreme.)  I stop what I'm doing and slowly look up to cautiously ask what it is.  Now, don't get me wrong.... they usually always work, but I just never know what those minds are going to come up with.  Here is the latest:

Here is the five-wheeler, turned "Tool Tender".  If Josh had had the time, he could have built it.  But the livestock takes up so much of the time in the winter that he opted to have the guys at Eddyville Hardware do it.  They did a great job!  (Notice the future tool gopher already trying to drive it!)

The box that the cabinet sits in is much like the bed of a pickup.  So the builders at the hardware store went off Josh's plans and built the cabinet right into the bed.  It has a shelf on the very top, four drawers on either side and two drawers on the bottom.  The idea is for it to be a mobile tool chest.  When the weather warms up a bit, we'll paint it and it'll look really nice!
