First Sled

Friday was the first day that all the elements cooperated with us to be able to go outside and play!
    1) No one was sick, getting over being sick, or looked like they might be getting sick;
    2) the weather was warm (25 or so) and the wind was still;
    3) there was enough snow to make the effort worth it;
    4) we had just purchased a sled (the last one and on sale!!!);
    5) Sarah didn't nap and we could get out in a timely fashion;
    6)  and all this happened on a day when I had few enough kids I could dress them all and keep track    of them in the snow all by myself.

This was the clincher for deciding "Yep, its time to get some fresh air".  We got dressed and headed outdoors...

....just in time to say hi to Papa before he left to grind feed.

We didn't know Josh was on the yard before we went out, but since he was around we thought we would put him to work!

Caleb had been looking forward to playing in the snow for a long time and he loved every minute of it! He was a little disappointed that we couldn't build a snowman, but his first sled more than made up for it.

I could have helped....but I was taking the pictures!

Caleb actually WANTED to pull the sled up the hill.  I don't think he'll be fooled much longer that this is fun, but we'll take it for as long as he wants.

Josh pulling both Sarah and Caleb.  I was just waiting for Josh to slip, fall and have the sled run over him!  But those work boots have quite the grip on them, so not such luck with a blooper picture.  (Not that I would WANT him to fall... no, not ME.... mwahahaha!)

Me and Caleb.

Go, Daddy, Go!

Caleb going solo.  With Josh's help, Caleb was able to go about halfway down the hill.  I think we would have had better luck if the drive was completely scraped, but we kept running into the tracks in the snow.

I included this picture just 'cause I like the view of the hog huts and the silo in the background.

My snow angel.

We tried to get Sarah to pose for the camera, but she didn't much care for the outing and was being grumpy.
