Easter Celebrations!

One special day of remembrance, two family celebrations.  Enjoy!

First, a visit to the Todds' on Saturday:
After all the gorgeous weather we've had, Saturday just HAD to be rainy.  Thus our outside egg hunt was switched to an inside basket hunt.  We filled the kids' baskets with eggs, hid each kid's basket around the house and they had to find them.  Here's Abigail and Emma looking beautiful in their dresses!

The egg hunt is fun and all, but the real meaning of Easter can't be missed.  Uncle Adam had all the kids' attention with the Resurrection Eggs and the story of the death, burial and resurrection of our Saviour!

And then a visit to the Van Zantes' on Sunday after church:
Sunday's weather was absolutely perfect for an Easter celebration.  After lunch, we hid eggs.  Josh and I were in charge of the hiding.  Among the typical hiding spots (in the grass, flower beds, along side the trees and garage,in the gutter spouts, etc.), we tried to be creative.  The kids had trouble finding this one, so with a little hint of  "Hey kids, how much rain did we get yesterday?", they finally found it!

The kids were memorizing the hiding spots by the third round of hiding, so we decided to deck out the Jeep with eggs.  Thirty eggs, one Jeep.

Having fun!
Notice the kids' grand egg gathering baskets... yep, Mama forget their "real" baskets at home and the Blue Bunny ice cream buckets had to suffice.  It didn't dampen their spirits though.

Checking out the deck for eggs.

Finding the eggs on the Jeep.  The chuckles that came from the kids when they discovered all the eggs were in one spot was priceless.  Kids are so much fun!

Stay tuned for two more posts about Easter!
