First Day of School, 2014-15

September 1 was our first day of the 2014-15 school year.  Yes, it was Labor Day.  And labor it was! The first day of school for us was ROUGH. I don't think anyone was in the mood for summer to officially end.  But I'm happy to say that once we all tweaked out attitudes, every day since has been great.  I think we all have really enjoyed learning and would agree that this year, so far, has been the funnest yet.  (Yep, I said funnest and I homeschool my kids!)

It's a little late but, as the saying goes, better late than never.  My children's first day of school pictures:

Awwww... they make my heart melt.

Caleb is technically a second grader, but he's working on a third grade level.  We live in a state of flip-flopiness because of this.  Is he in second grade or third grade?  Part of me says that I want to technically keep him in second grade with his own age of youngsters, but the other part of me says that if he is doing third grade work, he deserves to say he's in third grade.  So, what do we do?  We just wing the answer to the situation.

Same story for Sarah.  She's technically in Kindergarten, but doing first grade (and late year first grade work at that!).  So we wing it with her, too.
If you ever ask my kids what grade they're in and they act confused, the captions explain it all!
