Miniature Golf, Mini-Putt or Putt-Putt?

Whatever you call it, we did it.  After church and lunch on Sunday, our family went for a fun filled hour and ten minute round at Mini Putt in University Park.  Josh and I have enjoyed a loving rivalry with each other on who is better at putt putt ever since we dated.  I would like to take a humble minute and give credit where credit is due:  by hitting two holes-in-one Sunday afternoon, Josh did indeed prove that he is the better putter.  But that won't keep me from challenging him and putting up a bet at the next round we take!

It was the kids' first time at putt-putt, so there was a little teaching to do.
First Sarah Rose...

...and then Caleb.

After the initial lesson, they insisted on being on their own.

We took a long time and was even passed by a family who started ten or so holes behind us, but the kids had a lot of fun playing on their own.

The "Big Kid" concentrating.  No wonder he won!  He was taking it seriously ;-)

Sarah Rose got off course a few times.  Get it?  Haha.  I made a funny.  "Off course."  She's on a golf "course" and she got distracted and went off course.  Ha. Haha.  Haha??   :-)

The pendulum was a big hit.  The kids would swing it and then try to run past it before they got clobbered with it.  If memory serves me correctly, Caleb only got whacked once.

And the up and down pendulums, for whatever reason, confused Caleb.

And stopped Sarah Rose in her tracks.  I think she thought she was going to get caught by the moving pieces.

One of the greens was a series of ramps.  Caleb and Sarah had more fun running up and down the ramps than trying to get the ball in the hole.

The biggest obstacle was the lighthouse.  Thankfully there was no water in the moat, making it more kid-friendly.  Caleb's ball kept falling off the bridge and he eventually figured it was supposed to do that.  He finally tried seeing if it fit through the drainage hole before finally being convinced to just put his ball beside the real hole and putt it in.

Looking good for the camera.

You start where Josh and Sarah are, putt it across the bridge trying to get the ball to the hole where Caleb is.  The kids weren't the only ones to have trouble... it took me three or four tries to get it over the bridge myself.  Josh, however, being the mini-putt wonder that he is, made it with one try.

Josh beat me by nine points.  Its definitely on for another challenge...this time I'm going without kids so I, too, can concentrate and we'll just see who wins!!!
