Destruction of the Pinata

For a combination birthday and Valentine's Day party, we met at my brother and sis-in-law's house in Tama.  Well, near Tama.  Now, when the cousins on my side of the family get together, we have a houseful of kids...of whom Caleb is the oldest!  There are eight adults and eight kids.  And let's just say things can get crazy!  (In the 'good crazy' kind of way!)
For the party, Adam and the girls made a heart shaped pinata.  Take a look at the pictures to see its destruction:

First, Landyn had a shot at it.   Being a little boy, he could not wait to get his hands on some permission-given destruction!
(Notice the creative weapon Adam came up with as the beating stick!)

Then Bella.

What nice little ladies!  Waiting so politely to see who will be the next one up to bat!

Abigail giving it a go...

And little sister Emma...

And finally big sister Jocelyn.  For the older kids, we brought out the real whoopin' stick...the vacuum extension!

And last, but not least, Caleb.  It took a while for Caleb to get the hang of it, but he finally loosened up enough to give it some good whacks.

And Sarah may not be the funnest one, but she definitely was the safest!  She decided to stay snuggled up in Daddy's arms.

The popular hangout for the kids waiting for their next turn was right beside Papa.  He's got three in his lap and two waiting on the sidelines.

After several turns a peice, Adam broke out the muscles and smashed his own pinata.  He didn't realize how strong he actually made it!

Grabbing of the loot.

After the smashing and grabbing was done, we broke out the cake to decorate.  The kids had four or five colors of writing gel to choose from, M&Ms, and sprinkles.

And if anyone left without a sugar high, it was by their own fault!  There was enough sugar (literally in piles) on this cake to last many people many days!

If there is any doubt at all that Sarah is my daughter, take a look at this picture.  As soon as she was in the car, she verified it.  Those who know me well will know what I'm referring to!
