SURPRISE!

Josh's birthday was on Friday, the 15th.  The big 3-2!  It was a day like any other day, except for the little surprise party that the kids and I had planned for him at lunch.  We had a 1-year old, 2-year old, 3-year old and 4-year old in charge of organizing the events, which included a catered picnic lunch of roast beef, potatoes and green beans with Heavenly Bars for the special birthday dessert.  The birthday festivities ended with a bowling party.  We packed a lot in during the hour Josh was in for lunch!

Notice the birthday crown and the candles in the bars.  Josh was really a super good sport and went right along with the kids to celebrate.

It took chocolate, but we finally got a kind-of-smile from Sarah Rose.

And after lunch was the bowling party.  We probably spent more time setting the pins up than we did actually bowling, but it was a great, LOUD time!

And if the cowboy doesn't cooperate, you just tickle him relentlessly until he gives in.

I think Sarah Kathryn was more interested in reading  than bowling, but Calab was in the spirit full swing.  I was a little nervous taking this picture knowing that his throw is more often than not wild.   But,  I'm thankful to say, the camera survived and I got the shot without getting a shiner. 

This picture doesn't have anything to do with the birthday, but I thought it was cute of how the kids were admiring the newest chicks that had hatched over the lunch hour.
