Kitchen helpers

A great way to keep little hands busy so big hands can get more things done is to let them help in the kitchen.  (The little girl is Sarah Katherine, the sweetie I babysit from time to time.)

While Caleb was harvesting with the men and Sarah Rose was napping, Sarah Katherine and I made Amish Friendship Bread.

We made three batches.  I kept two batches for my family, and the third Sarah Katherine mixed and took home to her family.

She was a hard worker!  You can see all the pans and mixing bowls....

that she washed with a smile!

I think she was tired of posing for the picture.

On a different day, Caleb and I made lasagna for some friends that joined us for dinner that night.  Again, Sarah Rose was napping.

Caleb was in charge of the cheese mixture.  Mixing and ....

and smearing.

I love how this picture turned out.  It looks like he is keeping an eye on the lasagna in case it starts walking off.  I had planned to take a picture of the finished product, but we had some very hungry people ready to eat before it happened.  But it was delicious!
