Princess Farmer

Ask Sarah what her name is and she'll respond "Princess Sarah Rose Van Zante".   When its time to write her name during school, we go through the same discussion everyday: she insists she learn to write Princess Sarah Rose Van Zante and I insist she just learn to write Sarah first.  I win.  For the most part of the day, you can find her dressed up as a princess, complete with gown, high heels, jewelry, purse and/or crown.  In her eyes (and mine), she is a princess and well lets us know it!

She also likes to be a farm girl.  She can't last too long in the tractor because she's not big (strong) enough to keep herself steady sitting on the arm of the seat and so the bumpy rides are pretty hard on her. (Our equipment is of the pre-buddy seat era.)  But she loves that short ride with Daddy that she is capable of!

Ask her what she wants to be when she grows up and she'll respond one of the following ways: a mommy, a princess, a farm girl or a princess farm girl.  On the day of these pictures, she was practicing being a princess farm girl:

Off to the tractor with Daddy, hand in hand.  This one makes Mama's heart just melt!

She insist she can do everything herself!

Who's gonna drive?

The tractor ride was a short five minute one from farm to farm.  Here she is getting back out of the tractor at home, thrilled with the ride she just had!

Checking the corn with Daddy.  Even a princes needs to know how to do the important things in life!
I took most of the following pictures without Sarah knowing I was taking pictures of her.  Caleb decided his hat was too hot, so Sarah was more than happy to wear big brother's hat!

Josh and Caleb were measuring cracks in the ground.  Sarah Rose was in her own little world.

And then she noticed I was taking pictures:

Love the expression!
Then she was back to her own little world again....

Finally, all done with inspecting the hayfield.  Ready for a sit down...

How'd I end up with a family of cat-lovers?  I have no idea what BushHog is doing to entertain them so much, but whatever it was must have been funny!
