I can't believe that Caleb's first year of school has come and gone! I often watch my children and just marvel at the fact of how fast time goes, but the end of the school year really drove the point home of just how fast time seems to pass us by.
Wednesday, May 16th, was the day chosen for parents to gather in the classroom to watch the program the kids (and teachers, course!) had planned for us and then to watch them receive their "diplomas". It was great fun!

The boys and girls were sitting so nice as we arrived! Here's the whole class, all 17 kids. |
Caleb puts his tongue in his lower lip when he gets unasked for attention. I think he had it there the whole 35 (or so) minutes of the program! |
They performed six songs for us that they had done throughout the school year. Here's a cute one about starting their letters at the top. |
And here's one about a fish, but I can't exactly remember the gist of the song. Apparently the fish had gone to sleep in this part of the song! |
Getting into it! |
After singing, the kids each had a chance to stand up and introduce themselves to the audience and tell us what they wanted to be when they grew up. There were several princesses, a couple mermaids, a couple doctors, a banker, a US Marine, some teachers, a baseball player... and a farmer. That's my boy! :-) |
After introductions, we were treated to a movie of memories throughout the year. |
And then, it was time for the kids to accept their diplomas! One by one, they were called across the "stage" (front of the classroom) to graduate, complete with hat, tassel and diploma! |
A picture with all his teachers. Miss Atchison (right beside Caleb) is the classroom teacher, Mrs. LaRue (directly behind Caleb) is the associate in the room and Mrs. Shepard (in the back, on the right) is a para that works directly with one of the students in the class. They are all great ladies who were wonderful with all the kids! |
On the way home, Caleb was less than enthusiastic about more pictures. Here's his look of "Mom, I'm not in the mood, put the camera away or I'll have to put it away for you!" |
But Sarah Rose cheesed it up! |
These are just a few of the pictures I took. Preschool was a great experience for us, full of memories and growth! What a great year!
