Everyone has talked about the double rainbow that could be seen for miles in the Eddyville area on Wednesday. Caleb first spotted it on our way to school that morning. He excitedly proclaimed it and then we spent the next couple of minutes trying to point it out to Sarah. When Sarah finally found it, the expression of joy on her face was priceless! It started out in the northwest as a double third rainbow. As we kept watching, another double third developed in the southwest. By the time we got to school, the two double thirds merged and developed into two complete double arches, the bottom arch being much brighter than the upper arch. It was a beautiful sight against the very dark and rainy clouds that were the background.
Sarah was ecstatic as we took a short walk in town to see the whole arch. We soon came home, grabbed the camera and took a short trip back up the road for a nice photo spot. By this time, it was raining, which made the rainbow dimmer so we had to make it quick, but I still got a couple of nice ones!
