Another Miscellaneous Post!

Every once in a while I have a collection of pictures that accumulate that don't warrant a post of their own, so I put them in a post together.  Enjoy!

Chickens that don't cross the road:

Our chickens love to roam the yard, hunting for any little insect or worm they can fight over!  And very often they find themselves in the side ditches or sometimes even on the road.  They never go farther than the center lane, though.  However, on this particular day, this group of about eight was't interested in the bugs they could find in the ditch or even what was happening in the middle of the road.  They were just walking, right down the shoulder!  And they kept walking.  It was so funny to watch them!  They eventually turned around and came back, but not before we got in a good belly laugh!
Amanda's Pink Slime Special:
With all the hype in the news/media about the ground beef on supermarket shelves, I couldn't help but joke about this one with "pink slime" being the punch line.  I probably shouldn't, but oh well....
I had a pack of cream cheese and a carton of cool whip that needed to be used up before it expired.  So I started making a cheese cake pie.  I soon realized that I had used my deep pie dish when making the crust and the filling I had made was not going to fill up the crust.  Not wanting to redo the crust, I searched the fridge and cupboards and soon developed a new recipe to bulk up the filling.  Not hard, just added a little sour cream and jello.  It was delicious, but since it turned out pink from the strawberry jello I used and I had used "fillers" to finish out the filling, I nicknamed it pink slime when the news was covering the story while I served dessert.  Josh and Sarah didn't bat an eye at the name, ate all their pie and asked for more!
I got flowers this week:
My beautiful bouquet from a very handsome young gentleman!
Kids grow up WAY too fast:
Caleb gets the special privilege of playing on the porch by himself if he finishes getting ready before me and Sarah Rose.  Here he is on the porch by himself while Sarah and I are looking on through the storm door.  He's showing off his tricks on the skateboard that was handed down from his Daddy. I can't believe how big Caleb looks in this picture!
