Tulips in the Snow, FIve in the Morning, Pretty in Blue, and Cooties!

Four orders of business that have nothing to do with the others!  Gotta love random posts :-)

This past Fall was as mild as our winter has been.  Due to the mildness, we (the kids and I) waited as long as possible to plant our tulip (remember the "Holy Tulips"?) and daffodil bulbs.  Even after delaying it as long as possible and hoping for the best, our bulbs are taking a beating with the mild temperatures this winter:

My poor tulip babies are supposed to be snug and protected underground still.  Instead, they've had their little heads popped up since December.

Sunday, February 5, brought a family trip to visit Josh's sister Kristin's family.  We were to attend church with Kristin, Brian, Ellie and Brian's family.  Since their church starts at 9:00 and we live three hours away, we were up and at 'em pretty early.  I put the kids to bed at 6:00 Saturday night in preparation of getting them up early the next morning.  The result:

The kids were just as wound and silly getting up at 5:00 as they are getting up at their usual 6:45.  I guess they thought being crazy breakfast monsters was the thing to do on this particular Sunday morning!

I've been at my sewing machine again!  I spent a couple of hours one Saturday afternoon making Sarah another winter dress.  I made it a size too big so she could be sure to wear it next winter, too.  The pattern for the dress intended it to be mid-calf, but I think it looks super cute long.  Sarah picked out the fabric and was incredibly excited for me to get started!

All she needs now is a bonnet and she could be a little pilgrim girl...  But I like it!  I think it turned out really cute  AND she'll be able to wear it for a while!

And finally, there's nothing that will make the last thirty minutes of the evening go faster than a game of Cootie!  Rhonda found Josh and Kristin's game of Cootie from when they were growing up and sent it home with us for our enjoyment.

And the game is still just as fun twenty five years later!
