How hot is "hot"?

Its been hot! Corn curlin', flower wiltin', keep-the-kids-inside, water-down-the-livestock, can't-wait-until-sunset, eatin'-lots-of-ice cream, excessive heat warning HOT!  Oh, and I forgot highway buckling... take a look:



We had to make a trip to town Tuesday to do a quick errand.  On the way home, the road was fine.  Ten minutes later,  Josh went back that way on the four wheeler and we got a call from him telling us we should come look at the road because it had just buckled in that short time.  This all happened about 3/4 mile west of our house.





The DOT had the area patched for one lane traffic pretty soon afterwards and the next day they put a temporary (hopefully) asphalt patch it in.  Its amazing how weather can affect the most permanent seeming things isn't it?
