Easter and Birthday Cake!

It was a weekend full of family over Easter.  The kids and I spent all day Saturday with my family in Tama and we spent pretty well all day on Easter Sunday with Josh's family in Eddyville.  We had a great time.  And while pictures are few, I did manage to get a snap of the kids in their Easter best (thanks to Grandma Rhonda!).



It only took about 20 pictures (literally) to get this so-so picture of the kids!


It just so happens that Papa Loren's birthday is this Friday, the 29th.  So we had a little surprise birthday party for him after Sunday dinner while Kristin and Brian (and Little Baby B.) were here to join us.  Once again, pictures are few... but I did get a couple before we delivered the cake to its destination:



Loren is a "Red Man" (if you're involved in ag in any way, you'll know what this means!), so his birthday cake was International Harvester theme.  Notice the cake's left side is flat...yeah, its what happens when kids help with the cake plate lid!




Just another view.  It was a delicious (so I'm told) Devil's Food cake, three tiered with buttercream frosting. 
Yep, I'll take orders... any theme or celebration (and I promise not to let the kids put the lid on!)  :-)
