His Work is Their Play

One of the little tasks around the farm in maintaining equipment is keeping it clean.  Not only does it make the outside pretty and shiny and dust free, but it also keeps the radiator cover and air intakes clean to keep the insides running smoother, knocks off grease build up, winter road salt accumulation, chemicals, etc. to keep the paint in good shape to keep the metal rust free and keeps all the moving parts in and out of the equipment squeaky clean and moving properly.

We all know that a job involving water instantly attracts kids and mine are no exception!  At least in their play, they are learning the basics of thorough work!

Caleb and Josh started pressure washing the tractor and baler while Sarah and I were still working in the house.  He couldn't wait to show us his skills when we got out.

Sarah Rose loves to clean.  Anything and everything!  Give her a rag and she's a happy girl. (I'm thinking a swifter cloth and a can of Pledge for Christmas!?)  All it took was a blue shop rag and a little water and she kept herself busy spot cleaning the baler until Josh was ready to put it away.  And then she cried because SHE wasn't done cleaning.

One day, my house will be dust free thanks to Sarah Rose.  Now just to wait until that day comes....
