BALLOONS

One of the games for our church's Vacation Bible School was a balloon pop game, where each child has one or two balloons tied around their ankle and on "ready, freddy, go", they have to try to stomp on and pop everyone else's balloon without having their own balloon popped.  I think the kids really enjoyed it.  But to have a balloon pop game, you have to have balloons, right?

There ya go.  Balloons.
And to have balloons tied around ankles, the balloons have to be fitted with strings, right?

There ya go, balloons fitted with strings.
And to have the balloon game at VBS, you have to get the balloons to church, right?  (Here is where the fun starts.  I must say that pictures do not share nearly close to how funny this next part was!  Without seeing the motion of the balloons and seeing Josh's facial expressions and hearing him talk to the balloons at this near impossible task, you can't nearly get the chuckle out of the experience that I did.  But I'll at least try to relay the hilarity of the moment....)

Our VBS started Sunday evening.  Since there was no way I could take all 130+ balloons in one trip, I took some Sunday morning on our trip to church and then the other half was going to be taken Sunday evening when we went back in for VBS.  I asked Josh to help me load the first half up with somewhat strict instructions to NOT let the yarn strings and balloons get all wound up and tangled around each other.  Since it was windy and drizzly, I knew that this was a nearly impossible.

My helpers.  Josh had already been having a little difficulty getting the balloons into the trunk of the car with the wind.  It was funny (sorry, Honey, but it was!), so I grabbed the camera and just stood and watched while taking pictures.  I can just imagine the kids' conversation:
C: "Looks like Daddy's having trouble with those balloons."
S: "Yep."
C: "Maybe we should help him."
S: "Yep."
C: "Should you help him or should I?"

(See next picture.)

There's yer answer!  Sarah knows how to make a quick exit!
Notice Josh is still trying to get the first bunch of balloons conquered and shoved into the trunk.

"Sorry Daddio!  You're on your own!"

A couple minutes later....

"How's it going, Pops?"

Balloons almost conquered.

"How about I give ya a hand, Dad."
We did manage to get the balloons to church.  Not untangled, but they were there!  I think the kids had a lot of fun playing the game!  (Thanks to Mrs. Mandalynn for letting me use her picture!)

Thanks to my wonderful husband with a wonderful sense of humor for helping me with the hardest part of the whole balloon-blowing up-transporting balloon escapade!  What a guy!
