We had two grand events during my blogging hiatus. And grand events MUST be shared!
In February, both kids had birthdays. Caleb turned six and Sarah Rose turned four. My, how time flies!

Caleb goes in and out of his monster truck phase. During the time of his birthday (February 12th), he was "in" the phase and thus requested a monster truck cake. It turned out super cute, with a sand/dirt mixture and the monster truck jumping over some of his older matchbox vehicles of his choosing. The picture really doesn't do it justice. |

Always the girlie girl, Sarah wanted a princess cake for her birthday (February 18th). Her cake was complete with (edible) pearls and glitter on the dress. Sarah loved it!
The kids' birthdays are six days apart. Some years, they have a common interest and have a shared cake. This year, though, they both wanted their own cake so badly that I gave in and made two. Good thing Josh LOVES cake. But even HE had had plenty of cake by the time they (I don't like cake) had eaten through the two. If memory serves me correctly, I think some of Barbie's dress did eventually get tossed. |

Sweet Sarah Rose
(By the way, notice the news on the television in the background. I distinctly remember them talking about the foot of snow we were going to receive just a couple days after taking this picture.) |
