Its the second day of summer and yet we're working outdoors with long sleeves on. Crazy. I'm not even going to guess what the average temperature is supposed to be, but I can tell you that it is supposed to be shorts and t-shirt weather!
Never minding the chilly weather and the gusty wind that has come with it, we headed out to get a project done that has been on my to-do list.

The before: Josh and I put in a flag pole last year, surrounded by a little bed for something yet to be determined. |

The during: the kids played with a "new" frisbee that Josh brought from his mother's house. Once again, it was his when he was a little boy. |
I worked a little more, we went around the farm looking for more border rocks with the little red wagon, the kids played a little more, Josh showed up with a requested bucket load of mulch...and it was then that I realized that my camera screen had been broken. Something hard must have rubbed against it while it was in my back pocket. (I've heard of buns of steel, but that doesn't hardly describe me! Must have been the rocks.) The camera will still take pictures, I just can't see what I'm taking a picture of. So the rest of the pictures were taken just by guessing. They aren't the best, but they are a memory.

The after: I laid down a layer of landscaping cloth before putting in the two elephant ear plants. There are two planters in the back that contain the tickseed flowers and daylilies that will be transplanted into the ground as soon as we get my flower box bed built. Then the "mulch", which is chopped corn stalks from last year's feed supply for the cows. They are so nice to share some with me! |

Since Josh was a sweetie and brought me a bucket of mulch almost as soon as I called, I helped him out and ran the bucket loader up and down as he cleaned out the gutter that was clogged. Can you imagine me on a tractor operating the height of the bucket with Josh inside? Yes, it was very tempting :-) |

Then a little rough housing with Daddy.... |

...and just a little more.... |

...before Daddy rides back off to do whatever it was that he was doing before he dropped it all to help me out. |

Caleb's favorite tree to climb. Sarah wants so badly to join in! |
