New Things!

The kids have had fun playing with their new things they got for Christmas.  I obviously haven't taken pictures of all the fun things we've done... sometimes I forget, sometimes the camera just isn't handy, but sometimes I'm as involved with the things as the kids are!  (Don't get me started on Legos.  Let's just say that we give the kids their "five minute warning" before its time to pick up for bed, but Josh and I are still building long after the five minutes.)  Anyway, here are a couple of things the kids enjoyed last week.

Our buddy Alec (and his mom and dad) gave Sarah Rose a set of Strawberry Shortcake dolls that have outfits that can actually be changed!  This is Sarah's first doll with changeable clothes and she wasted on time in catching on to the idea.  The set even came with two purses the dolls could hold.  Sarah is in love!

The little set were speaking of.  The cardboard box it came in was not really meant to be part of the toy, but we still had fun playing with it as her room.  Then there are two little dollies (Strawberry Shortcake and Raspberry something), six outfits, a hat and two purses.  The dolls are about the size of Sarah's hands and smell like their respective fruity names.

Oh my...put some clothes on that dolly!

Little girls will do what little girls will do!  It looks like I'd better get busy making some doll clothes for her other babies.

And then there is the gift that our buddy Nash (and his mommy and daddy) gave Sarah and Caleb.  It is a neat kit with five color/shape coded pictures and coordinating Styrofoam stickers to place on them.  Caleb loves that he can do it all by himself and I'm surprised at how quickly Sarah is learning her colors by helping me do hers!

Does it make sense now?  The picture and then the stickers you put on them.

In Sarah's world, her fish apparently like flying upwards.  When we finished, she spent the next little while flying her fish all around the house, taking a second to pose and show off her craftywork.

Working diligently.  And looking perplexed.

But he finally got it done.  The pictures come with plastic hanger hooks and, of course, Caleb has his projects hanging up in his room.

Thanks to our friends who celebrated the Christmas Season with us and shared in the fun gift giving!
