Busy Monday Morning

What do you do on a Monday morning?  If you're at our house, you have races!

"Snake races"... not quite sure what's wrong with the belly-side-up one!

Side swipe!

Looks like one little snake grew legs and eventually won the race.

"Frog races". Not quite sure which hippity hopper won this one.

"Chicken race".  Quite the commotion of noise these cluckers made.

Nash thinking "You ain't gonna have me lookin' and soundin' like THAT, you crazy woman!"  He's protesting against the chicken race.

"Car racing".  We have one going the wrong way!

"Put your hands on your ears and run!" race.  By this time, Sarah Rose decided to join in.  Can you imagine the chaos?

"Put your hands on your butt" race.  This brought giggles all the way around.

"Grab your favorite stuffed animal and run around like a nut" race!  More giggles.

Caleb was the only one willing to try the "One hand on your knee and one hand on your belly button" race.
After this last race, we smelled something awfully suspicious coming from a diaper (too much info?), so we had to take a diaper changing break.  The kids started playing contentedly with some other toys, so I thought it would be a great time to organize my church music.  I broke out my binder and plastic sleeve thingys (you know, the clear plastic sleeves that you slide papers into to keep them nice and wrinkle free?) and started to work....

.....on the toy room floor.  The job proved to be as entertaining to the kids as the races were.  They lined up the protectors to see who could jump over one...then two...then three...you get the idea.  Here's Caleb in mid-air.

Nash giving it a go with Sarah and Sarah waiting patiently in the back for theirs.

The protectors proved to be a hit.  They each wanted one of their own to play with.  (The things that make youngsters happy, huh?!)  I promised them that if I had any left over when I was done, they could have one.  Sure enough, I had exactly four left.  We scribbled their names and a picture on each one and that was their entertainment for the next thirty minutes!
