Christmas brings about new and fun things to do with the kids that we obviously don't get to do the rest of the year. This past week, we broke out the Nativity stickers with the daytime kids and then made stockings together as a family later that evening.

Getting things ready. And the kids were actually quite patient while waiting for me to open the package, sort out the papers, and dole out one set of stickers and one background sheet to everyone. That's saying alot for my group of a 3 year old, 2 year old and two 1 year olds! |
Caleb is pretty independent and didn't need much help with his stickers, but what I liked most was that he helped me tell the Christmas story to the little kids as we placed the stickers. |
Sarah Rose must be quite the artist...she's getting a good eye's view from every angle! |
Aaaaaaand....we're losing Nash. There's only so many stickers he wanted to 'smoosh' down and then he was off on his own adventures. |

What a cheese! Here's a closer look at the stickers that helped us tell the story. |

And then it was time to finish up lunch. I can't remember what I was making that day, but I usually only let the kids play with the pots and pans when I'm going to have messy hands and need to keep them busy for a while. So, all the kids had a couple of stirring spoons and helped themselves to the pots. Let's just say that with the pots banging and Mannheim Steamroller's 'Hallelujah Chorus' playing in the background, we made quite a noisy crew! (And yes, these days, I wash every pot before I cook anything....just in case!) |
After supper, Caleb wanted to make stockings. So we got out the craft box and got creative. First a little cutting.... |
....then a little decorating..... |
(notice 'Charlie Brown's Christmas' playing in the background) |
...then a little gluing.... |
...and ta da! You have stockings! |
