Pool Party!

Saturday evening, we had the great opportunity to help celebrate the second birthday of our friend, Alec.  And to do just that, Alec's parents invited friends and family to have a pool party at the pool in Albia.  It was mine and the kids' first time EVER to a pool (yes, I'm almost thirty and have never been to the pool) and we had a terrific time.

The pictures are a little out of order, but here we go...

It took a while for the kids to get used to the idea of being at the big pool with lots of people, but once they DID get the idea we couldn't keep them out!

The birthday boy!  Alec spent a year and a half with us, three days a week, while his mom and dad worked.  Since Caleb is starting school and his mother's and my schedules have changed, he has since found new friends to spend the day with.  But all the kids recognized each other after a month apart and had fun at the reunion.

The wheel Caleb is spinning regulated the pressure of the water squirting out.  We could have the water shooting all the way across the pool or just dribbling out.

There was a train slide in the kiddie pool that was train themed.  It took the whole first hour to talk Caleb into trying it, but once he did he loved it!

The slide.

It took even longer to talk Sarah Rose into trying it.  Josh is trying his hardest here to succeed....

...thinking about it...

...she finally made it aboard...

...and down the slide.  This was a BIG accomplishment!  After she made it down once, she went down over and over!

Stepping on the water fountain.

Being a sea turtle.  And of course, if I've said it once I've said it a hundred times...

...what big brother does so does little sister.  Two silly sea turtles checking out the "deep end" of the kiddie pool.
